Caring, Compassionate & Confidential
Helping adults and their families in the Rockford area for over 30 years.
Here at A New Direction Counseling, William C. Edleman MSW, LCSW specializes in counseling individuals dealing with feelings of worry, anxiety and panic disorders.
Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a long standing treatment for a relatively rapid change in your lifestyle. I use CBT as a main counseling technique for mood swings, anxiety disorders, and depression. Over the last several years, an increasing amount of studies from renowned university of UCLA, Mayo Clinic and others, indicate that mindful meditation for stress reduction has been extremely effective. Therefore, I teach mindful meditation and use it in my practice as an adjunct with CBT. The intent is to stay focused on the cutting edge tools that can help individuals both long and short term.
We can start today with organizing your thoughts and managing your feelings. Techniques such as refocusing your thoughts and mindful meditation are helpful ways to alleviate the mind of anxiety and ease depression. I also provide counseling for gambling addictions for individuals and families.
A New Direction Counseling Center provides therapy and counseling techniques that are cutting edge, and clinically proven to work for you!
As a cognitive and behavioral therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you are just ready to move in a new direction with your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
We strive to help those who are willing to put the hard effort and work into their mental health.
